2023 Annual Geneva Lake Ice-On Contest

The GLEA’s annual Ice-On Contest is in full swing! We invite kids, kindergarten through 8th grade, to guess the date that Geneva Lake will freeze over. Our goal is to encourage the students to view how weather affects the lake and for them to develop an understanding relationship with the lake. We have included a little information for the children to consider regarding conditions that affect the lake freezing. Please read the rules below and find the entry form at the bottom of this page. We look forward to reading your entries!

  • Entry forms are due by the end of the day Friday, December 23, 2022. In the case of a tie, the winner will be determined by the earliest submission date.

  • Entries must have a single calendar date chosen as the Ice-On date. Please use "Month Day, Year" format

  • Entries must be legible to be considered.*

  • Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place.

Finally, please distribute this to your students as soon as you would like. Feel free to use the form below or create your own form, or if you would like us to provide you with copies, give us a call and we would be happy to provide them for you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office.

*Submitting via fax please use white or light-colored paper to copy them onto, dark colored paper does not fax well.*
